PD Webinar - Responding to students struggling with writing in grades 4-6

In this session Lara, an experienced primary teacher and leader, will present ideas that you can use to promote engagement with writing tasks for students who are reluctant or struggling writers.

The strategies covered will include understanding the issue for the child as well as techniques to engage students in creative writing, persuasive writing, formal writing, such as book reviews, and writing for a specific purpose.

Lara will share ideas that they have used to engage the reluctant writer. Participants will also be encouraged to share ideas, leading to a pool of ideas that each teacher can adapt for the struggling writers in their classroom. If you have exhausted your own toolkit of ideas, come along and engage with some new ideas and resources.
