PD Webinar - Online Child Safety

For students to be successful in a 21st century learning environment they need to understand and use technology an online tools. These tools open many new possibilities for collaboration and communication. By being connected to other people systems at a global scale there are many interactions that can be of great benefit to their education. However this connection being public means that caution is required to ensure students remain safe. Teachers need to have an understanding of how students engage with others online and through the use of these technologies to recognise and cater for risks to student safety. This session, presented by the Australian Federal Police, will outline the ThinkUKnow program and how it can inform parents and teachers about the behaviours students may engage so that we can prevent them being vulnerable to sexual exploitation, bullying and generally stay safe online.
