Learning Support Officers (LSOs) will work one to one and in small groups with students with low levels of literacy. This session is designed to increase the resources and ideas for improving student literacy that can be utilised by LSOs. Students with poor literacy skills will struggle to meet the learning objectives that have been set by the teacher. LSOs who are able to draw on a wide variety of resources and ideas to support students’ literacy development will make a great contribution to student confidence and their ability to meet learning goals. The presenter is a teacher with experience in both primary and secondary settings.
