PD Webinar - De-escalating disruptive behaviours

It can be very challenging to manage student behaviour in the classroom or school yard when one or more students exhibit extremely disruptive or concerning behaviour. Being able to intervene effectively is an important skill but can be difficult to get right in different situations, especially for Education Support Staff who are working with directions from other staff. Putting effective preventative strategies in place is an important consideration. This session will outline preventative strategies as well as strategies that can be used in the heat of the moment, including the use of assertive dialogue to avoid undue aggression or anxiety.
