CRTPD: Practical Responses to Student Trauma and Anxiety

Location: Geelong, location TBC

Presenter: Megan Corcoran

This workshop will provide CRTs with practical strategies to recognise, respond and support students experiencing trauma and anxiety. Participants will engage in interactive activities and explore evidence-based approaches to help manage student emotions, build resilience, and create a supportive classroom atmosphere.

Through case studies, role-play scenarios, and expert guidance, educators will gain hands-on tools to effectively address and mitigate the impact of trauma and anxiety on student well-being and academic success. By the end of the course, teachers will leave with a collection of practical resources to implement and feel empowered to respond with empathy and understanding, fostering a positive learning environment for all students.

Come connect and collaborate with like-minded CRTs while enjoying refreshments in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Standards addressed:

  • 7.1.2 Meet professional ethics and responsibilities

  • 7.2.2 Comply with legislative administrative and organisational requirements

This course is an initiative of the Teacher Learning Network, in partnership with the IEU.
