School staff play an important role in creating a space that allows acceptance of the diversity of students. It is a requirement to ensure that all students are protected whilst in our care. This course is designed to provide an understanding about sexual and gender diversity to ensure that all staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge to provide a safe an inclusive learning environment. This will be a general information session that covers the effects of language on sexual and gender diversity. There will be a focus on practical strategies school staff can use to support LGBTQ+ students in schools and how all school staff can promote a culture of acceptance.
