This session is about learning some fundamental skills of coaching and mentoring that will help you to develop the people in your team. Coaching and mentoring can be used to enhance the skills, the knowledge and the capabilities of people in the team that you lead. There are skills to learn to be an effective coach and mentor and there are decisions to be made about when coaching and mentoring are the most effective interventions you can make as a leader in your school. While there are differences between coaching and mentoring, the common core is a one to one conversation - that is the focus of this session, how to have effective one to one conversations.
