IEU Women: How We're Winning Equal Pay (Online)

International Women’s Day 2025:
How We're Winning Equal Pay

Online via Zoom (register for the link below)

The gender pay gap is currently at the lowest it's ever been - and that’s thanks to union women standing up and fighting back to win equal pay!

Recent changes campaigned for by workers in union are making a huge difference - but how much do you know about them?  Celebrate union women winning and hear from an awesome line up of speakers about:

  • How early childhood educators have used our new multi-employer bargaining laws to win a 15% pay increase;

  • How aged care workers have used stronger equal pay laws to fight the undervaluation of their work and win pay rises of up to 28%;

  • How workers like medical scientists have argued to the Fair Work Commission that their work has been underpaid because it's mostly done by women, and their fight to fix it!

  • How workers are using new laws that ban pay secrecy and improve transparency of employer gender pay gaps to organise at work.

This panel discussion is hosted by Victorian Trades Hall Council.
